THE NEXUS TRANSLATION PROCESS — A GUARANTEE OF QUALITY

A STEP BY STEP PROCESS TO ENSURE SUCCESS

Behind every great writer there is a good editor, working diligently to ensure that all the "i's" are dotted, the "T's" are crossed, and that the resulting prose conforms to the fundamentals of good style. At Nexus, we submit every document to a thorough quality assurance process, ensuring that every document is checked for accuracy, readability, and adherence to accepted writing conventions before delivery. We'll consult with you regarding any terminology and style requests you may have, and work with you to provide the documents you need.

1. EVALUATION

Discussion with you and assessment of your document. The style, vocabulary, and format for your delivery is decided during this stage. After all, a tourism brochure will have a very different style to a contract, and different again to a product catalog.

2. PLACEMENT

Placement of your document with a translator with sufficient experience in a relevant field. All of our translators are carefully picked for their field-specific knowledge, and we make sure that we assign only those translators who can do your document justice.

3. TRANSLATION

Initial translation of your document. This is where the translator gets to work. If at this point any problems with the original document are found, either errors in the source language or issues with terminology, then we will contact you.

4. CHECKING

The veracity of the translation is checked by a native speaker of the language of the original document. The words “fine-toothed-comb” are applicable here. No translator is perfect, which is why we have the document checked again.

5. EDITING

The checked document is edited for readability in the target language by an experienced editor. Here we make sure that the document strikes the right tone and register for the target audience.

6. FINAL CHECK

A final check of the edited document is performed by the original translator before delivery. This helps with consistency for future work, and ensures that the edited translation does not stray too far from the original document in terms of meaning.

7. DELIVERY

The document is delivered to you.
